International Women’s Day 2025: Celebrating Women’s Empowerment with WATCH & PAM

On March 8, 2025, WATCH and PAM came together to celebrate International Women’s Day, reaffirming their commitment to gender equality, women’s leadership, and social justice. This year also marked WATCH’s 33rd anniversary.

The event began with a vibrant rally featuring WATCH staff, PAM staff and children, and local authorities, raising their voices for women’s empowerment. The inauguration was led by WATCH Secretary Padma Shakya, with PAM President Dr. Basanta Shrestha delivering the opening remarks, alongside Ward No. 1 Chairman Rameshwor Lama and Ward Member, who emphasized the importance of local government support for gender equality.

A powerful session on women’s rights and legal awareness was presented by WATCH’s Parbata Shrestha, shedding light on the importance of legal literacy for women. Children from PAM also presented inspiring performances, reinforcing the need to educate the next generation on gender equality.
